This Privacy Policy describes how Jollof and Love LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use our dating application and services ("Service"). This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms and Conditions. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable privacy laws including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

When you register and use the Service, you provide: Account Information including name, email, phone number, date of birth, gender identity, sexual orientation, password, and username.
Profile Information including photos, videos, biography, interests, preferences, physical attributes, location, education, and occupation. Identity Verification Documents including government ID (driver's license, passport, or state ID) and a real-time selfie as described in Section 1.3 below. Communications including messages to other users and customer support.
Payment Information including billing name and address (payment processing is handled by third parties; we do not store full credit card numbers).

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

We automatically collect: Device Information including device type, operating system, browser, unique device identifiers, IP address, mobile network information, and time zone. Usage Information including features accessed, profiles viewed, matches made, messages sent, timespent, search queries, and clicks. Location Data including precise GPS coordinates or approximate location from IP address (with your permission). Cookies and Tracking Technologies to recognize you, remember preferences, and analyze usage patterns. We use session cookies (expire when you close browser) and persistent cookies (remain until deleted).You can control cookies through browser settings, but disabling them may affect functionality.

1.3 Identity Verification Information - Critical Details

We collect government-issued ID images and selfie photographs solely for age and identity verification purposes. This process works as follows: You upload a clear photo of your ID showing your name, photo, and date of birth, plus a real-time selfie. Our TRAINED HUMAN REVIEWERS manually examine these documents. We DO NOT use facial recognition, AI, machine learning, or automated biometric systems. We DO NOT extract, generate, store, orcreate: biometric identifiers, biometric information, facial templates, faceprints, facial geometry maps, facial landmarks, retina scans, iris scans, fingerprints, palm prints, voiceprints, handgeometry, ear shape data, gait analysis, DNA data, or any other biometric data. Our review ispurely visual comparison by humans.

IMMEDIATE PERMANENT DELETION: Immediately upon completion of manual review (whether approved or denied), your ID image and selfie are PERMANENTLY and IRREVERSIBLY DELETED from all systems, servers, databases, backups, archives, logs, caches, and storage locations.
We cannot recover these images after deletion. We retain ONLY: (a) verification status (approved/denied); (b) verification timestamp; and (c) ID document type (e.g., driver's license).

We do NOT retain: ID images, selfie images, ID numbers, addresses, physical descriptions, barcodes, security features, or any detailed information from your ID beyond what is already in your account registration (name and date of birth).

This service is intended for users over 18 ONLY.

1.4 Information from Third Parties

We may receive information from: Social Media Platforms if you register via Facebook, Google, or Apple (name, email, profile photo, friends list based on your platform permissions). Analytics and Advertising Partners providing aggregated demographic and interest data. Service Providers including payment processors, fraud detection services, and identity verification services. Publicly Available Sources to verify information or detect fraud.

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use your information to: Provide and Operate the Service including creating accounts, verifying identity and age, facilitating matches, enabling messaging, processing payments, and providing customer support. Personalize Your Experience by customizing content, recommendations, and features based on your preferences, location, and behavior. Improve and Develop the Service through analytics, research, testing, and feature development.
Communicate with You via account notifications, security alerts, service updates, policy changes, and (with consent) marketing communications. You can opt out of marketing emails anytime. Safety and Security to verify identity, detect and prevent fraud and abuse, investigate violations, monitor suspicious activity, enforce our policies, and cooperate with law enforcement. Legal Compliance to comply with laws, regulations, legal processes, and governmental requests.
Advertising and Marketing to display targeted ads within the Service and on third-party platforms based on your demographics, location, and interests, and to measure ad effectiveness. Business Transactions to facilitate mergers, acquisitions, or asset sales. De-identified and Aggregated Data for research, analytics, and any purpose (this data cannot identify you personally).

3. HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION

We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration. We share your information in the following circumstances:

With Other Users: Your profile information (name, age, photos, bio, interests, location) is visible to other users you match with or who view your profile. Other users may see when you were last active. You control what appears in your profile through settings.

With Service Providers: We share information with vendors who perform services for us including: cloud hosting and storage providers; payment processors (Apple, Google, Stripe); identity verification services; fraud detection and prevention providers; customer support platforms; analytics services (Google Analytics, Firebase); email and messaging services; content delivery networks; marketing and advertising partners; and security services. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for specified purposes.

For Legal Purposes: We may disclose information to: comply with laws, regulations, and legal processes; respond to subpoenas, court orders, and law enforcement requests; enforce our Terms and policies; protect our rights, property, and safety and that of our users and the public; detect and prevent fraud, security incidents, and illegal activity; investigate claims; and for other lawful purposes.

Business Transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity. We will notify you via email or prominent notice before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

With Your Consent: We may share information with third parties when you provide explicit consent, such as sharing your profile on social media or authorizing data sharing for specific purposes. You may withdraw consent, but withdrawal does not affect prior processing.

Aggregated and De-Identified Information: We may share aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information that cannot reasonably identify you with advertisers, business partners, researchers, and others for any purpose.

4. DATA RETENTION

We retain personal information as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud, and for other legitimate business purposes.

Active Accounts: We retain account and profile information while your account is active.

Deleted Accounts: When you delete your account, we remove your profile and delete or anonymize personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate purposes (fraud prevention, dispute resolution, legal record-keeping). Messages may persist in other users' accounts. Some information may remain in backup systems or cached copies not readily accessible, deleted in ordinary course.

Identity Verification Data: ID images and selfies are permanently deleted immediately aftermanual verification review as detailed in Section 1.3. We retain only verification status, timestamp, and ID type.

Communications and Messages: Retained while both users maintain accounts. When either user deletes account, messages may remain in other user's account. Transactional communications (payment confirmations, policy updates) retained for periods required by lawor business record-keeping (typically 7 years).

Legal and Compliance Information: Transaction records, payment info, and consent records retained for periods required by applicable laws and regulations.

5. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under CCPA/CPRA:

5.1 Right to Know

You may request information about: (a) categories of personal information collected; (b) sources of personal information; (c) business or commercial purposes for collection; (d) categories of third parties with whom we share information; and (e) specific pieces of personal information collected. You may make up to 2 requests per 12-month period covering the prior 12 months.

5.2 Right to Delete

You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to exceptions for: completing transactions; providing requested services; performing contracts; detecting security incidents and protecting against fraud or illegal activity; exercising free speech rights; complying with legal obligations; conducting internal research; and using information internally in a lawful manner compatible with context provided. We will delete and direct service providers to delete your information except where exceptions apply.

5.3 Right to Correct

You may request correction of inaccurate personal information. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to correct in accurate information. You can also update most information directly through account settings.

5.4 Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing

We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration. Under CPRA's broad definition, disclosing information to advertising networks for targeted advertising may constitute "sharing." If we engage in such sharing, we will provide a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information"link or similar mechanism to opt out. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where required.

5.5 Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information

Under CPRA, sensitive personal information includes: Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, passport numbers, precise geolocation, racial/ethnic origin, religious beliefs, geneticdata, biometric information for identification, health information, sex life/sexual orientation, and citizenship/immigration status. We use sensitive personal information only for permitted purposes: providing requested services; ensuring security and integrity; detecting security incidents; resisting illegal actions; ensuring physical safety; short-term transient use; performing services; and verifying quality/safety. We do not use sensitive information to infer characteristics about you. Regarding ID documents: we do NOT extract or use biometric information, and we permanently delete ID images and selfies immediately after verification.

5.6 Right to Non-Discrimination

You have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising privacy rights. We will not: deny goods or services; charge different prices; provide different quality of service; or suggest different pricing or quality. We may charge different prices if reasonably related to the value provided by your data or offer financial incentives permitted by law.

5.7 Authorized Agents

You may designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf. Agents must provide written authorization from you, and we may require you to verify your identity directly and confirm you authorized the agent. We may deny requests from agents who do not submit proper authorization.

5.8 How to Exercise Your Rights

To exercise rights, submit a request by: (a) emailing hello@jollofandlove.com (b) using the privacy request form at [Privacy Request URL]; or (c) calling [Privacy Phone]. Provide sufficient information for us to verify you are the person about whom we collected information. We respond within 45 days or notify you of extension (up to 90 days total) with explanation. We provide information covering the 12 months before receipt. We do not charge fees for requests unless excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded.

6. SECURITY MEASURES

We implement reasonable technical, administrative, and physical safeguards to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, and destruction, including:

Encryption in transit using TLS/SSL protocols; Encryption at rest using AES-256 or equivalent; Secure authentication with password hashing (bcrypt) and optional two-factor authentication; Access controls limiting employee access on need-to-know basis; Security training for employees handling personal information; Regular security assessments and vulnerability testing; Intrusion detection and prevention systems; Firewalls and network segmentation; Regular patching and updates; Incident response procedures; and Secure data centers with physical access controls.

However, no transmission method or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security. While we strive to protect your information using commercially acceptable means, we cannot warrant that unauthorized third parties will never defeat our security or use information improperly. You provide information at your own risk. If we learn of a security breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by law via email, push notification, in-app notice, or posting on the Service.

7. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

The Service operates in the United States. If you access from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. and potentially other countries where our service providers operate. These countries may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction. By using the Service, you consent to transfer of your information to the U.S. and other countries.

We take appropriate measures to ensure adequate protection in jurisdictions where we process your information, including: using standard contractual clauses approved by regulatory authorities; implementing data processing agreements; and applying other safeguards required by law. If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we comply with legal requirements for international transfers using European Commission-approved standard contractual clauses where required.

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

The Service is not intended for individuals under 18 or the age of majority in their jurisdiction, whichever is greater. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it and terminate their account immediately. 9. Child Safety and Prohibited Content Policy

Jollof & Love is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all users.
We have a zero-tolerance policy for any form of child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including but not limited to:

* Content depicting or promoting sexual activity involving minors
* Any form of grooming, solicitation, or exploitation of minors
* Sharing or requesting sexually explicit material involving individuals under the age of 18

Our platform is strictly intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly allow minors to create accounts or access our services.
Any content or behavior that violates this policy will result in immediate action, including:

* Removal of content
* Suspension or permanent termination of accounts
* Reporting to appropriate law enforcement authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), where applicable

We actively monitor and investigate reports of misconduct and cooperate fully with law enforcement when required.

10. THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND SERVICES

The Service may contain links to third-party websites, apps, or services not owned or controlled by us. We are not responsible for third-party privacy practices, content, or policies. When you access third-party services, you are subject to their terms and privacy policies. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing information. The inclusion of links does not imply endorsement. You access third-party services at your own risk.

11. DO NOT TRACK SIGNALS

Some browsers transmit "do-not-track" signals to websites. Because no standard exists for how to respond to these signals, we do not currently respond to them. We do honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as required by California law.

12. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time to reflect changes in our practices, business operations, legal requirements, or for other reasons. When we make material changes, we will notify you by: posting the updated policy on the Service; updating the "Effective Date"; and (where required by law) sending email notification or displaying a prominent notice in the Service. Your continued use after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to changes, stop using the Service and delete your account. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.

13. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR EEA, UK, AND SWISS RESIDENTS

If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have additional rights under GDPR including: (a) right of access to your personal data; (b) right to rectification of inaccurate data; (c) right to erasure ("right to be forgotten"); (d) right to restrict processing; (e) right to data portability; (f) right to object to processing; and (g) right to withdraw consent. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Our legal bases for processing include: (a) performance of contract (to provide the Service); (b) legitimate interests (fraud prevention, service improvement, marketing); (c) consent (where required); and (d) legal obligations. When we rely on legitimate interests, we balance our interests against your rights and ensure adequate safeguards. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests.
